How Do I Prepare for My Spray Tan?

Shower before your Spray Tan appointment! You need to remove moisturizer, deodorant, makeup and sweat. Do not apply anything to your skin after showering.

Shave & Exfoliate. Concentrate exfoliating extra on dry areas such as knees, feet, elbows and ankles. Our favorite exfoliator is The Body Shop’s Exfoliating "Skin Towel" ($8.00) or Bed, Bath & Beyond’s "Hydro Towel" ($5.99).

Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment. Remember to also wear sandals, not closed-toed shoes, as these will remove your tan.

Don’t be shy. The less you wear, the better the results. If you feel more comfortable wearing your bathing suit or underwear, that is fine. Otherwise take advantage of the disposable panties that we have available for you to use.

Wait at least 8 hours before washing. Shower in water temperature that is cool to warm. Gently rub your hands over your skin; do not scrub. The cosmetic bronzer washes away and the tan keeps developing over the next 24 hrs. To dry, pat your skin with a towel rather than rubbing it.

Moisturize. Apply lotion after showering. Keep your body moisturized over the next 7-9 days. You can’t stop the natural cycle of shedding skin cells, but you can keep your skin hydrated to prolong your tan to reduce patchiness so your tan fades well. To touchup your tan we recommend our special lotions that contain small amounts of DHA. They are especially helpful for areas that fade more quickly (ie. hands, face, feet).  Ask about these when booking your appointment. We will bring some for purchase at the time of your spray tan. *Do not use lotions containing alcohol or mineral oil.

How Does the Spray Tan Appointment Work>

We offer individual spray sessions for both men and women. The appointment takes about 40 minutes. We have a mess-free enclosed tent that can be set up anywhere.  The tan is achieved by precisely misting the body with a spray that has an instant cosmetic bronzer. Any overspray is caught in the tent and filtered fan. There is a faint smell of coconut, and that is all! The tanner contains a certain percentage of DHA (DiHydroxyAcetone), a colorless sugar which reacts with the Amino acids in the dead layers of your skin and develops over 6-8 hours to provide you with a lasting glow, like you just came back from vacation! Once the tan is set, the tan will fade gradually like a "real" suntan.

How Can I Make Sure My Spray Tan Lasts?

Plan ahead. Which day do you want to look most gorgeous? Book your Spray Tan for a day or two before this.

Timing Your Appointment.  Do all beauty appointments such as pedicures, facials, wraps, lashes, etc. before getting a spray tan. If you choose to do the Express Glow, you only have to wait 1-3 hours before showering-depending on the level of tan you wish to achieve.  Appointments at night allow for you to be relaxed and the least active. You can sleep while your tan develops and will shower the next morning. We regularly book late evening appointments to cater to your schedule.

Be mindful of Activity.  Pedicures, Hot tubs, swimming pools and frequent sweating will cause your tan to fade faster.

Moisturize. Keep your body moisturized over the next 7-9 days. Keeping your skin hydrated.  Other products that we love: Dior Bronze Self-Tanner Natural Glow Face, $37, Dior Bronze Self-Tanner Natural Glow Body, $40, and as last resort, Neutrogena Build-A-Tan, $10.99.
